City of Decatur Mobile Food Cart Vendor Program

Passionate about cooking and ready to sell your special cuisine to the public? Decatur, with a well-earned reputation as a dining destination, is launching a new food cart vendor program with the goals of enhancing dining options, adding to the mix of activity within our streetscapes, and cultivating small businesses.

The City of Decatur is accepting applications from vendors who wish to set up a cart in one of eight designated spaces around Decatur’s vibrant commercial districts.

Successful applicants:
- Are small businesses not yet able to open a brick-and-mortar location
- Offer a cuisine not currently found in Decatur
- Create grab-and-go options to cater to workers

You must have an existing license to serve food in the metro Atlanta area.

Applications will be accepted from January 1-31, 2025. Click on the portal in the sidebar to begin the application process.

If accepted, you'll need to get a Decatur business license, and can operate your cart for one year.

Approved applicants are agreeing to operate at their assigned location within the hours selected from the available operating hours listed below.
  • Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 9 pm
  • Friday and Saturday, 9 am to 10 pm
  • Sunday, 9 am to 8 pm.
After 10 months, each operator will receive notice that it's time to reapply for the program. Renewals are not automatic and will go through the same process each year for approval.

We invite you to apply, and we look forward to considering your food cart.
